The Duggars Did What!?

Scrolling through the Internet today, I noticed something very interesting. The Duggars (of 19 kids and counting fame), are actually defending their son! For those of you who’ve been living under a rock the past few days, Josh Duggar had reportedly inappropriately touched some of his sisters when he was a teen. CNN reports that his parents responded by saying the following:

“The parents described the molestation as “improper touching,” sometimes over the girls’ clothes, sometimes under the clothes. “This was not rape or anything like that,” Jim Bob said.” While I do agree with them that it’s not rape, it still counts as molestation according to the definition “2 : to make annoying sexual advances to; especially : to force physical and usually sexual contact on”

While it looks innocent enough (compared to most molestations that is), it still counts as it is implied that it was unwanted. Now I could go all day on how that’s hypocritical, but let’s look at the bigger issue that I have with this: they’re playing the victim card.

“The parents told Kelly that they feel like their family is under an “unprecedented attack” partly because of their Christian beliefs.” Uh… No. You guys are under attack because of how you a: decided to cover this all up, and b: declare yourselves to be the victims. While the outcome wouldn’t look good either way, it would have been better if this was brought forth before. That way you guys wouldn’t look like big hypocrites when you guys bash the LGBTQ community (but still look ignorant and uneducated). One final thing before I go, I’d like to point out this little snippet

“In the video clip, the sisters focused on the new violation of privacy, not the old violations by their brother. Jill tearfully said, “They can’t do this to us. We’re victims.”

By “they,” she meant the officials who released the juvenile records.”

No that’s not how it works. Just because you guys are big and famous, does not mean that you’re above the law. Since he broke the law, he should be guilty, even today since you guys covered it up!

That is all for today! I am The Thinker/chicken95 and will see you all later!
